Chili 11/09/05

From the first time I saw photos of Chili's litter I was smitten with him. He reminded me so much of a specific dog in his pedigree which includes two of my all time favorites, Ch Chatwig Chinook, FCh (a Eng Ch Charmoll McTavish son) and Ringdove Quasar, SRCh. However, six dogs is my personal limit, and that's how many I had here at the time; so, I had to just watch from afar, or so I thought.

One evening I received a call from my dear friend Kathy, who I co own two of my whippets with. She knew how much I liked this pup, what I seen in him and why I was drawn to him. She offered to house, raise and compete with him, sharing him with me (and Kim) until I was able to bring him here and compete with him myself. So the call was made to Kim and the details worked out.

Kathy drove to California to pick him up and to attend her first race meet. She learned a lot that weekend and had a wonderful time, and finally got her hands on our new pup! I still had a few months to wait til I was able to see him at the AWC National (05) and when I did I was very pleased! He was just what I thought he'd be, muscled, balanced, moderate, and built like a race dog should be.

Finally in August Chili came to stay at SaeSi. He's been to a few shows, raced at the WRA National weekend event and has blended into my household very well.

I can't say thank you enough to Kathy for making this possible, and of course to Kim Otero for sharing this brindle boy with Kathy & I! Chili will live part of the time with myself in Indiana and part of the time with Kathy in Colorado.
